NJLeftBehind on SPCNJ’s Response to Jersey Jazzman’s Flawed Defense of His Flawed Research

Thanks to NJLeftBehind for blogging and Tweeting  SPCNJ’s response to Jersey Jazzman’s flawed defense of his flawed research.  As usual, NJLeftBehind adds its own take and helpfully includes @stateaidguy in the thread.

To reiterate: Jersey Jazzman’s two research reports for New Jersey Policy Perspective are deeply flawed. Despite Jazzman’s Ph.D., he seems not to understand what sound research is.  He cherry-picks data, makes invalid assumptions, and puts forward unproven assertions.  His conclusions are unsupported by his “research” and are invalid.   Jazzman’s work is decidedly not evidence-based.

And yet “evidence-based” is exactly the standard that NJPP claims to adhere to for its research.  So a straightforward question for NJPP and its president, Brandon McKoy: do you stand by Jersey Jazzman’s two reports for NJPP?  Do they meet NJPP’s standard for “evidence-based” research?
