InsiderNJ’s Jay Lassiter wrote a column this morning about the influence of special interests over New Jersey politicians. Lassiter rightly questions who these pols are working for. But he curiously failed to mention the most powerful special interest of all: the NJEA.
John Bury of BuryPensions posted a piece that looks at how and where the NJEA spends its $125 million in teachers’ dues. The list he provides gives a taste of how far and wide the NJEA spreads its money. It’s pretty obvious that a lot of the NJEA’s grant money is for political influence. The SPCNJ will have more on this in the near future.
But kudos to Mr. Bury.
