According to InsiderNJ, formerly “dark money” group New Direction New Jersey (NDNJ) is back at it with a $2 million TV ad campaign leading up to the Assembly elections in November. It’s nice to have a lot of property tax dollars to spend.
How much of the $2 million comes from the NJEA? Is this on top of the $4.5 million the NJEA has already given NDNJ?
Remember that these $2 million are withheld from teachers’ hard-earned paychecks without the teachers ever seeing the money. Is this how teachers want their dues spent?
And remember that ultimately the $2 million comes from property taxes. Is this how taxpayers want their property taxes spent?
Who benefits? The most powerful special interest in the state, the NJEA, and Governor Murphy, the NJEA’s TV ad spokesman. Some kind of system we have in NJ.
