As reported in InsiderNJ, Super PAC New Direction New Jersey (NDNJ) has cut a new ad touting Gov. Murphy’s COVID response and his recovery plans. Sunlight just wants to remind NJ citizens that NDNJ is 80% funded by the public sector unions (70% by the NJEA). Just a little more back-scratching between Murphy and his public sector union pals. Recall that, as documented in Sunlight’s blog “New Jersey Governance in the Middle of a Pandemic: Run by and for the Special Interests” Murphy took care of his special interest patrons in his COVID budget, so it’s little surprise that they are now paying him back.
This is a very nice, cozy arrangement for Murphy and his special interest supporters but average NJ citizens are ultimately paying for all this because tax dollars pay for union dues which pay for NDNJ’s ads. What a rigged system!
