NJLeftBehind nails it. In a timely piece today, Laura Waters makes the connection between the NJEA going 7-for-7 on Gov. Murphy’s budget and recently signed legislation and a $1.25 million TV campaign by New Direction New Jersey, the Super PAC that is 70%-funded by the NJEA. There’s a whole lot of back-scratching going on between Murphy and his NJEA patrons. It’s rare to see it so blatantly exposed.
Also, thanks to NJLeftBehind for highlighting Sunlight Policy’s most recent report “Ugly Truths and Hard Facts about New Jersey’s Pension Crisis.” and tying it into the above. The report’s subtitle is “A Case Study in What Happens When a Special Interest Like the NJEA Becomes Too Powerful,” and the NJEA’s sway over Murphy provides a perfect case-in-point. Well said, NJLeftBehind!
