The New Jersey Globe reports that about 50 “progressive” activists protested a fundraiser for the Sen. Sweeney-aligned General Majority PAC. The group’s statement makes it clear that they are part of the “#RedforEd” movement, which is a creation of the National Education Association, the NJEA’s parent organization.
How ironic then that they call for greater transparency in government! Remember that the SPCNJ exposed the NJEA’s secret $2.5 million funding of New Directions New Jersey (NDNJ), a dark-money group that runs ads starring our governor that promote the NJEA’s agenda. At least General Majority is open about its fundraising, while the NJEA and the governor are not.
And these NJEA members have the gall to protest about government transparency. It’s hard to take them seriously.
