You do, taxpayers. $129 million’s worth last year.
Your property tax dollars pay for teacher salaries and the union’s dues are withheld from them, so your tax dollars flow through the district and the teachers directly to the NJEA. Of this generous $129 million of funding, SPCNJ estimates that $65 million is spent on politics.
Like this rally in Trenton.
And remember that your tax dollars are funding political efforts that aim to increase your taxes even more. The NJEA wants to keep the most generous health benefits in the nation (much more generous than the average taxpayers’) but wants taxpayers to pay for them.
The NJEA talks about “fairness” all the time. How is that fair to taxpayers?
